Holiday Dress Guide | Polished Resort Wear Throughout the Holidays

  • Festive attire for holiday parties often has both formal and casual elements.
  • Festive attire: the guide to holiday dresses
  • What to wear to a holiday party

Picture this: Alexa is playing Jingle Bells, hot cacao cools on the stove and suddenly you remember, the holiday party is just a few days away. What will you wear?! The holidays are packed full of events and to-dos, but picking the right outfit doesn’t have to be one of them. To make the most of your holiday cheer, I’ve put together a holiday dress guide. Whether you’re spending this season soaking up the scent of fraser firs or celebrating amidst some tropical palms, this guide is for you.

The Work Party:

The holiday office party is what you’ve been waiting for–gratitude for that year of incredible work ethic and of course, a chance to let loose with bosses and coworkers. Though the event may call for Holiday/Cocktail attire, you’ll want to let your light shine in something that still says “work appropriate.”

The Rocket Girl Dress is classy, timeless and festive with gold embroidery. I love the knee-length, A-line silhouette and three quarter sleeves that give office and party vibes. If you’re on the mainland, pair this dress with a shimmery duster and pumps. If you’re rockin’ around the Christmas palm island-style, try it with gold wedges and a lariat shell necklace!

The Girlfriends’ Gift Exchange:

I’ll begin by saying that if your holiday season doesn’t involve a girlfriends’ gift exchange…it should! Gather your ladies around the fire for gold-rimmed cocktail glasses filled with mocktails, face masks and gifts you’re guaranteed to love (ladies know best!)

The Bougie Dress is feminine, flirty and perfect for a night with the ladies (or out on the town). Featuring a blouson waist and adorable bow back tie, it’s the gift that keeps on giving. If you’re dashing through the snow, pair it with a cropped leather jacket and metallic block heels for a sophisticated look with some edge. Holiday looking sunny and 75°? Add some strappy sandals and dangly earrings for a look that’s “party in the palms” ready.

The Semi-Formal Dinner:

If you’ve been following along the Loleono Lifestyle blog, you know that I love fashion, fun and *drumroll please* food. If you’re a santa-season socialite, you likely have one (or several) semi-formal dinners planned. Kudos lady, I am right there with you. You want your dress to be flattering (please refer back to forementioned food) but also sleigh-all-the-way.

The Curacao Dress is *the* one. Featuring a fool-proof, A-Line style, this printed body is elevated with coral-colored embroidery and key-hole back detail. If you’re headed to the Times Square Marriot Marquis, pair this dress with a luxe, faux fur shawl and some red heels. Dining oceanside? Put on your espadrilles and grab a beaded clutch for an elevated, island vibe.

The Family’s Secret Santa

The holiday season is frequently flooded with family traditions and get-togethers. Love or hate them, you’ll likely be in attendance. Lighten the mood at the fam’s secret santa this year with a dress that is fun, festive and drama proof.

The Mandarin Dress features a classic, stand-up collar and whimsical pom-pom hemline that is sure to catch compliments around the tree. Cold outside? Pair it with a beaded clutch and long white cardigan for a family-friendly look. Christmas in the sand? Add your favorite sun hat and slide on some Jack Rogers for a fun and flirty, year-round style.
