Loleono Top Picks: Kauai Edition

  • What to do in Kauai
  • Best things to do and see in Kauai
  • 5 things to do in Kauai, Hawaii

Kauai, also referred to as the "Garden Isle" is home to some of our wildest island dreams. Spanning across Na-Pali Coast cliff sides, Waimea Canyon State Park and some of the most hidden, pristine beaches, let's just left our hearts in Kauai. We could go on forever about the gems dispersed amongst this island, but we've decided to share a list of our top five!

I: Queens Bath

Following a pleasant, 10-min hike past luscious jungle and a stunning waterfall (hooked yet?) This natural tide pool rests between indigenous lava rocks. Take a leap off the 15-ft ledge (or not) into a crystal blue pool, full of beautiful fish and unforgettable views.

II: JO2 Restaurant

Don’t worry, we wouldn’t make you hike without a surreal meal to follow. Head to East side for some of the most exquisite dishes on the island. JO2 incorporates Kaua`i-grown heirloom vegetables and the freshest ingredients from the sea into their creative (and delicious) menu. The menu is always evolving but we recommend the Ono *insert drooling emoji here*

III: Tunnels Beach

Set along Kauai’s North Shore, Tunnels Beach is a snorkeler’s paradise. Get there early because parking is extremely limited (this also means the beach is quiet and secluded...yes please!) White sand, clear water and a pristine mountainside makes this one of the most picturesque spots on the island.

IV: Waimea Canyon State Park

Drive it or hike it…either way, it’s a must-see. Mark Twain coined this place the “Grand Canyon of the Pacific,” and we think it belongs on the list of world wonders. From any angle, you’ll see spectacular, panoramic views, waterfalls and ocean in the distance.

V: Secret Beach

Shhh...it’s a secret. This is, without a doubt, the best place to catch some rays. A short (but muddy) hike lets out to a massive, secluded beach with views of the Kilauea Lighthouse. It’s no wonder this one is a best kept secret.
