Life hack | 3 Ways to Recover After the Holidays

  • Here are some ways to recover after the holidays
  • Ways to get back into your routine after the holidays
  • Hydrate
  • Self-care
  • Get back on schedule

Happy New Year Loleono lady! Kudos, you made it through the holidays. I love all of the festivities that come with the holiday season: parties, time with friends and family and of course, all of the yummy food and beverages (check out some of our recipes if you’re still hungry)! But with a season of celebration comes some serious stress.

If you’re a holly, jolly queen you might have had a few sleepless nights, overindulgent meals and a house full of lovely (and needy) guests. As an enthusiastic elf myself, I’m here to tell you to enjoy all that the holidays have to offer but if you’re feeling a little discombobulated, these are my three tips to recharge your battery in the New Year.

Hydrate (No, I don’t mean champagne)

Drinking enough H2O is a must-do all year round but especially after the holidays. You’re likely feeling a little dehydrated after all those salty dishes and cranberry cocktails, so now’s the time to refuel with plenty of water. If you’re having a hard time getting in your daily dose, I love adding a slice of lemon or cucumber to my water bottle for an extra burst of flavor that feels indulgent.

Get Back on Schedule

Remember those sleepless nights I mentioned earlier? Tack on Santa Clause wake-up-calls and NYE and you might be feeling like you’re living in Groundhog Day. The sooner you get back to your normal schedule, the sooner you’ll feel like yourself again. I love implementing a 9-5pm routine, adding in a morning workout, prioritizing sleep and chipping away at that laundry pile of festive sweaters. Don't love a rigid schedule? You don’t have to! Find a plan that works for you and try to stick to it ASAP, you’ll be glad you did!

Take 30

After all the cookie exchanges, work parties and family gatherings your social battery might be running on low. I know mine is! Take time to recharge by saving thirty minutes for some you-time. Whether it’s a half hour walk, reading your new fave book by the fire, or binge watching some Netflix, you will thank yourself later. These quiet moments will allow you to head into the new year feeling refreshed and ready for new opportunities.
